Born in Elizabethtown, KY, Theresa's journey led her through challenges and resilience that shaped her vision and unwavering commitment to faith, community, and family. Relocating to Rockford, IL, she embarked on her educational path at Rock Valley College, yet encountered the allure of gangs and drugs, entangled in a web linked to her family’s history. Despite the adversity, it was a pivotal moment of arrest in Kentucky that marked a turning point.

For Theresa, the arduous road to redemption ignited a profound purpose—to extend a guiding hand to others. Her transformative journey commenced at Trilogy Center for Women, where she not only earned her bachelor's degree but also embraced the role of a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC). Fueling her passion further, she pursued higher education, culminating in a master's degree focused on human development and leadership in 2014.

From her tenure as the licensing and credentialing officer at Commitment House until 2019, Theresa's faith remained her guiding light. Following divine guidance, she heeded a higher calling and initiated her brainchild: reNEST, a beacon of hope for women in Elizabethtown, KY, commencing on January 1, 2016. As time unfolded, the program expanded its reach to aid both men and women.

In 2021, Theresa felt the divine hand beckoning her to return to Rockford, IL, where her transformative journey had begun. This homecoming was more than geographical; it was a soulful endeavor to give back to the streets she had once known differently. Her fervent passion lies in obedience to her faith, serving as a vessel to help others in ways directed by her higher power.

Theresa stands as a woman of vision and commitment, her unwavering dedication fueled by a profound connection to God, community, and family. Her life's purpose echoes in every life she touches, her path illuminated by the guiding light of faith and a resolute commitment to the betterment of others.
